Job title: Outreach Worker (Luton) 
Based: Based in Luton
Salary: Between £23,500 – £26,500 per annum   (depending on experience) plus monthly car allowance paid at mileage rate.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week including varied early morning starts

About this role:

 

This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people who are experiencing difficult times.

This role is to ensure that people sleeping outside are offered prompt and effective support to move away from life on the streets.

This is in effect a search and rescue service and will involve you walking and exploring approximately 7 miles per week across all terrain.

You will help people who could be chaotic and mistrusting, they may have mental health and addiction issues but need your help and support.

The post is based across Luton, and you will be required to travel extensively throughout Luton each day, therefore having your own transport is essential.

Throughout your week you will have considerable autonomy and periods of time lone working. This will enable you to make a personal difference to people’s lives. You will have excellent time-management, prioritisation, organisational, inter-personal, and administrative skills.

You will be knowledgeable in IT and communication, have the ability to build relationships with people from varied backgrounds and a commitment to connect with those that others have given up on. You will encourage them to have hope, and you will develop expertise to enable you to connect with varied accommodation solutions.
