Frequently asked questions
What is the NOAH Big Silverstone Sleepout 2025?
It’s a unique fundraising event where participants sleep outside at Silverstone Racetrack to raise awareness and funds for homelessness. The experience mimics rough sleeping conditions, with participants using only a sleeping bag, pillow, and cardboard.
What is the fundraising requirement to take part?
Each participant must raise a minimum of £1,000. You can either: – Pay £250 upfront and raise the remaining £750, or – Raise the full £1,000 through sponsorship or donations.
Is the £250 upfront payment refundable?
No, unless the event is cancelled or rescheduled and you can no longer attend.
What happens if I don’t reach the fundraising goal?
The aim is for each participant to raise £1,000 to support NOAH’s work. While this is the target, we understand that fundraising can be challenging. NOAH reserves the right to make exceptions and may still allow participation at their discretion, especially where clear effort has been made to fundraise.
What do I need to bring to the event?
Warm clothes, a sleeping bag, a pillow, and your ID (passport, driving licence, or birth certificate). No bedding is provided beyond a cardboard sheet.
Can I bring alcohol or invite friends/family to visit?
No. Alcohol is only served at the reception and not allowed in sleeping areas. Visitors, pets, and guests are also not permitted.
Will there be refreshments or food?
Yes, light refreshments and drinks (including non-alcoholic options) will be available at a pre-sleepout reception in the media centre.
Will there be first aid on site?
Yes, and if you require treatment, NOAH may record your details for legal and safety purposes.
Will I be filmed or photographed?
Possibly. By signing up, you agree to the use of your image for promotional purposes unless you opt out by emailing, [email protected]
How do I submit my fundraising?
Via NOAH’s fundraising platforms (like JustGiving), online payments, or by sending a cheque. Cash cannot be accepted at the event.
