Key to NOAH’s work is the wide range of services that are available at the Welfare Centre. Our holistic approach ensures that people have the best possible opportunities and that we can address in one place the wide range of issues that they are facing.
NOAH is a place of transformation and lunch can be the start of that journey away from poverty. Many of the people who come to us for help are not registered with a doctor and so their health is often poor. We have built up a close relationship with our local Nurse a who run surgeries on site once a week.
We’re a welcoming hub that brings key services into NOAH, making it easier for people to get the healthcare support they deserve, especially those who can find it hard to access help through the usual routes.
We work alongside visiting mental health professionals and drug and alcohol support workers who take time to build trust, then help people connect into the wider NHS and community services. We also host mobile dentistry, as well as opticians, so people can get essentials like check-ups and treatment in a familiar place.
These on-site assessments have helped many people move forward into hospital appointments and rehabilitation opportunities they might otherwise have missed. Just as importantly, partner teams share their knowledge with our staff through training and coaching, helping us offer stronger support from the very first conversation, particularly for anyone experiencing mental health challenges.
We encourage every visitor to get involved and participate in a wide range of activities and workshops, which take place from 1.30-3.30pm each afternoon. Support with debt and addiction issues are provided.
If you are messaging regarding an urgent welfare need, please contact the Welfare Centre directly on 01582 728416 or in person at 141 Park Street, Luton, LU1 3HG.
