NOAH to work with Local Council to provide English Classes

The Government has awarded £188,663.28 to Bedford Borough council to help deliver services for ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages) through 2020-21. The funding is part of a nationwide initiative by MHCLG (Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government) to facilitate 345 free community based classes in speaking, listening, reading and writing.’

The Council will work with charities including the Polish British Integration Centre, the Kings Arms Project, ACCM UK, 1MPACT and NOAH Academy, alongside Bedford College in delivering ESOL courses.

Head of training and employment at NOAH Academy, Warren Edwards said: “The MHCLG ESOL for Integration funding that we will receive through our partnership with Bedford Borough Council and other partners, will allow NOAH to provide life changing and enhancing opportunities for those we serve, we are extremely grateful for this opportunity.”’

This is a great opportunity for NOAH Academy to support the Bedford community and we are excited to be involved with this initiative. We constantly strive to best serve the community and ESOL classes and clubs will definitely aid in this mission. If you know anyone who would benefit from our ESOL courses or clubs, or would like to volunteer and get involved, please don’t hesitate to contact the Academy on academy@noahenterprise.org or 01234 581108.

Due to this new funding input we are also looking to engage with more ESOL teachers in the Bedfordshire area. If you would like to apply to be one of our self-employed ESOL teachers please contact the Academy on the methods listed above or view our vacancies page for more information.
