Irish Ambassador visits NOAH Enterprise’s Furniture Store

Irish Ambassador visits NOAH Enterprise’s Furniture Store

Jim O’Connor MBE, NOAH’s CEO, was delighted to welcome His Excellency, Adrian O’Neill, Ambassador of Ireland, to NOAH Enterprise. In the midst of a concentrated visit to Luton, the Ambassador had called upon Luton Borough Council, the Irish Forum and, latterly, dropped in to see an important aspect of NOAH’s provision in Luton viz. their Furniture Store in Power Court in Church Street.  He spoke to staff and volunteers several of whom had Irish connections.

The Store has a large range of ex-display, end-of-line and donated furniture and white goods at very keen prices.

It is part of the work NOAH does in helping people on the margins of society, particularly those who are homeless, a significant number of whom are Irish or of Irish descent. The Furniture Store is an example of the creative, innovative and holistic approach NOAH takes in helping people to a better life.

Jim said, “It was a pleasure to have the Ambassador visit and to be able to show him something of what we do. We are hugely grateful to the Irish Government for the generous support they give that enables us and many other organisations to work with all those in extreme poverty, including members of the Irish community.”
